also what about the gas guage would it read litres or gallons

ROFL but good question. i hadnt thought ot that. but really it shouldnt matter since we hold the same amount of gas and it should be used at the same rate, so the gauge should go down at the same rate.

LOL

Gas gauge reads empty to full. I don't know about crazy canadians, but full here means its got a full tank of gas. Half a tank of gas in gallons is the same as half a tank of gas in litres.

ok so aside from my stupid question....lol....will it work with just simple plug it in and it works i mean i dont have to calibrate anything on the computer or anything....it mean KMH and MPH it will calibrate for itself since there is MPH on the cluster as well as KMH but my biggest concern is the Odometer.getting all screwed up and not reading right....will the cluster convert miles into kilometers...and it be correct.....i dont need to be screwing up my warranty

Thats the only thing I am concerned about, if it will show KM or Miles on the odo. I'm winning a bid on E-Bay right now, I'll post the link because I don't think I want it any more, right now its only at $10, I have bid up to $15, its $10 to ship. Nothing wrong with it, just the plastic covering the cluster is cracked, but you can use the one from the old one. This is for 2000+ and it is plug and play with US. This will go up to 135mph, and I can provide a link to somebody who will make a custom MPH accurate gauge face for it pretty cheap (less than $100).

I hope no one gets mad at me for bringing this back from the dead. I'm just wondering what your outcome was... did you make the cluster swap and did it work? I've been wanting to do this forever.

I'm confused because I've heard that only the 2000+ models keep the odometer reading saved in the computer (not the cluster). I have a 99 Z24 with a digital odometer and I need to know if I can swap the cluster without having to get the odometer reading reprogrammed.

Is it a definate "99's operate the old way and 2000+'s operate the new way" or is it a change that happened in the middle of the 99 production? (Like how my 99 Z24 had "2000+" strut mounts).
