I'll be in jersey tomorrow. Sold my truck and looking at a 2001 STS... Yeah a slight change from my recent cars...
So apparently my wheels thought they needed more breathing room and decided to move the fenders out on their own.
I like to consider it the "Saturn adaptive widebody kit."
Sheered the fender off right where the "L" is to the chassis. Oh well it's only plastic

you know whats great right? You can go to the junk yard and grab a fender off any matching car and it will bolt directly up, match the color exactly, and require no adjusting to make it match the rest of the car. Unlike a car with sheet metal body panels. Or you could just fiber glass the bracket back together.

That's exactly what I had planned
I'm not worried about it parts are cheap since the plastic isnt worth jack to scrap yards
But where it broke is such an easy fix if I decide to repair or replace it no concerns.

Just keep an eye on the oil level, some saturns tend to burn thru oil alot more than other saturns. Not sure why but it seems to only affect certain ones and there's really no way of knowing till after you buy it and driven it a while. Since GM knocked Saturn off some autoparts stores have slimmed down their saturn part inventories
. They get great gas mileage and body parts are easy to come by and cheap @ junkyards. Some have boosted the hell out of the engines.
A set of Viton valve seals solves the oil consumption problems, the last set I bought I think they were like $40.

Yeah all of the early ones left the factory with mobile 1 in them because they dont drain the oil out of the oil rings on the pistons and they coke up and start pushing the oil out of the pistons. If the car used synthetic most of its life or has new pistons then it wont burn oil, but if not then it'll burn oil.
ANd those boosted turds, spend half their lives on jackstands.
If you buy a satty make sure its a dohc and not an auto.
