Keyless entry problem..
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 7:14 PM
Ok this is my problem looked into it a little checked basic stuff couldn't nail it down. With the remote I can lock both doors no problem, I push the unlock button once and the lights flash but drivers door doesn't unlock, push it again lights flash and the passenger door unlocks. Same thing happens with the inside lock buttons, both buttons lock both doors but niether button unlocks the drivers door. And I push the trunk pop button and the lights flash but the trunk doesn't open.

It also kinda looks like it might have been dealer installed.

Anyone have this problem before??

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like the solenoid on your driver's door is dying.

And the trunk solenoid too. Mine works 75% of the time... I think mine is dying as well.

Hey i know this is old but i thought it would be better to put this here then start a new one i have this same problem with my 4door sunfire and its a problem for me because my trunk lock dosent work the only way for me to open my trunk is to take jumper cables and hook one clamp to the battery and the other on the trunk solenoid wire and it works but other then that the doors lock and only the passangers unlock

I had this same problem for 3 months. I checked all the fuses and didnt see anything, Replaced everything. Still nothing. Bought a new set of fuses and went through every fuse again, one by one, guess what... IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE. EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Double check, triple check, quadruple check all your fuses 10,000 times lol. The one the was bad was so hard to tell. I would just go through and replace them all till it works.

Could either or both of you tell me exactly which fuse was blown? I've had an issue with my keyless entry for years and I couldn't figure out the problem.

I'm not sure what one it was I just replaced every single fuse in the cabin fuse box and it just started working again

y'know, fuse testers can be had for $5, and both the underhood and in cabin fuse panels have maps with numbers and definitions on them. next time around, try some real troubleshooting.
