I honestly read the sticky and I tried searching so please don't get pissed at me. I'm sure this has been asked but here we go again.......I have 6 1/2" speakers and I'm making an adapter out of 3/4" MDF (extra from a sub box). Now my question is will the door panel fit without any modifications? Or will I have to cut a hole in the door panel?(I really don't want to cut a hole, it looks tacky)

1- yes
2- no

I have a 1" adapter on my doors with a 6.5 speaker. The door panel sticks out a bit, but it doesn't bother me.



I may not know much about cars, but I know two things....
1) Breaking things is expensive, and
2) Horsepower isn't cheap.

you've got 2 1/4 inches to play with outward from the metal to the door panel. i put 3/4 mdf and mounted a tweeter on top of it . the tweater touched the door panel but didnt make it bulge (bulges when you push in hard)
