2000+ bestkits T harness relay circuit

I bought a BHA 2004T best kits harness from a guy on this board for 40$, it claims to be the only t-harness on the market that has the relays to make the chimes work and the perfect solution to class 2 communications. Anwyays I was looking at how this thing works and it looks pretty simple enough to make by yourself if you know what you are doing. I drew out the thing and heres how it looks:

The only wires that go to the stock deck in the back are the power wires, Front Left Speaker, wires, mute, the Class 2 wires, and for some reason one of the wires for the right front speaker (weird)

Personally i understand electronics but i'm no engineer and I was thinking that someone on here would be able to make something out of this perhaps a new solution or somekind of replacement. I'm sure that together we could wire up some kind of alternative to a t-harness or chime module. Ive seen online how to install stereos on newer Jettas with performance stereo pakages and they have made it so it works without using any other harnesses, I'm sure we could do the same as a j-body community.

What do you guys think ?

All that harness does is hit the relays to use the aftermarket speaker you installed for the chime.... really easy to do. But the actual cost of the harness is about the same as just building it yourself.

You still have to have the stock deck installed (which generates the chime).

If you understand Class 2 wiring and can build a circuit for cheaper than the Ventura Technologies box that Metra sells now... then you're in the wrong line of work

Lenko thanks for the info, i was looking at the Metra GM RC01 and it only has a couple of wires running to it

From what i can see pink, black, red, yellow go to the module, if someone took this apart it could probably make alot of possibilities because from what i see right now you don't need the radio to make this work.

I'm thinking that the pink and yellow wire is for the Left Front spkr and what happens is there are relays that swtich it on in there. The ground is used and then the switched 12 V comes out too.

What do you guys think? Lenko what's ur view point of this???

Are you talking about that ^ module up there? (The venture one?). If so.. it's a Class 2 device... it replaces the radio as chime generator. It has some sort of funky circuit in it that reads the class 2 signals, then generates a switched +12V wire as you'd need for an aftermarket deck. It would also tap the front speaker to still use it as the source for the factory door chimes.

I got an email from the guy who built it... before he sold the design to Metra. Lemme see if I can find it...

(He saw my webpage, realized the need for such a module, and built it. Good man!! )
