!Need Help! Something is draining my battery

hey guys alright i have a problem it just started about 3 weeks ago........i wired 6 LEds in my dome light but they are the ones from pep boys that you don't need resisters i guess they are built in well i wired them all in paraleell to the switch for my dome light......it was great but then my batt. was dead one day well i ended up getting a red top optima but anyways i took the neg. term off and hooked up a test light ground to the ground wire of the battery and put the probe end into the neg term and i got light which means that i have a draw somewhere well i took the acc. fuse out of the fusebox and no more light so that is the problem i checked my power door locks......unhooked them, still did it so i cut the wires for the domelight and that didn't work either so what do i do now???

One: The English language created the period for more than just abbreviations. Not trying to be rude, but I had to read that 3 times to get anything from it.

Two: Getting a current from the chassis ground to the negative terminal isn't a bad thing, as there are some things that are constantly trickling battery power; head units, the car clock, alarm (if you have one), remote open/start, and the such. Obviously, it shouldn't be pulling enough to kill your battery. If you can, find a friend who has a multimeter with a continuity tester and start in on the circuits you've messed with. See if a connection you made wasn't insulated well and is shorting to the chassis.

Three: I've heard rumor that yellow and red tops have a bad habit of losing charge if they aren't used very regularly. Once again, I don't know as I haven't used one, but that is what I'm told.

well my car did this before i got the red top and i just took the fuse out now to prevent it from killing my 130.00 battery. i know there should be some draw but when the acc. fuse is out there is a very very dim light coming from my test light, on the ohter hand when it is in then the light is bright showing something is not right there. i have no alarm, or rem. start ext.

Hmm. Unfortunately, I'd probably have to have access to your car to really help you.

Just for @!#$s and giggles, I tried your test light trick. Mine lights up nice and bright, but I don't have an issue with my battery draining.

Are you sure about this trick? I mean, a test light just lights up when there's a potential difference... if there's anything (the computer, for example) that draws any current, it's going to make that sucker light up.

Perhaps your old battery was just... shot?

On the other hand.. if the problem started 6 weeks ago, and that's when you installed the LEDs... then, there's your problem!
