Installing factory cruise

Anyone done this??

I want to take the factory signal arm (w/ cruise controls), the wiring, the cruise control box w/ the throttle cable.... the whole works... off a wrecked car, and put it on a car that didn't come with cruise.

Would it work?? Or would the PCM not do anything, because it didn't have cruise from the factory therefore it doesn't recognize the input??

It actually came up from an auction of mine on Ebay... I was selling an arm w/ the controls.. someone on here saw it and asked me about the rest of the system.

its not that hard, i've done it, basically all the wires are easy access, the big plug (or better words wiring harness lol) that sits under the clutch resevoir has all the wires you need to tap into for the vss, cruise enable, and cruise inhibit (i think thats what they're called) than all you need is ignition 12+ and 3 wires from the stalk and voila. the only hard part about it, is doing the pedals

Ok, that's good to know. I was curious if there WAS a cruise inhibit wire on cars that didn't come with cruise...

Thanks

z22sTyLeS, what did you use for the cruise inhibit wire? The guy trying to hook it up to his car says it isn't working. I'm doubting that the cruise inhibit wire is actually present on a car that didn't come with factory cruise... so what did you use?

OK, I checked the connections on my sister-in-law's 03. Now I know that everything is hooked up correctly (the cruise inhibit wire is there), but it's still not working. I don't know if this means that I need to have the PCM flashed or not. Would it possibly hurt anything if I swap PCMs with the '03 to test with? The '03 is an automatic, my '04 is a 5 speed.
