I have an Alpine HU, its about 6 months old. Well, some of the new cd's i buy when i put them in the make a scraping noise and it says 'ERROR'. These are BRAND NEW right out of the package cd's. It only does it on select cd's. It drives me nuts. It seems to do it more when the CD player is cold. I swear ill never buy another alpine..they absolutely SUCK monkey weiner in the winter..It wont even play loud for about 10 mins till it warms up. Any of you guys have the same probs?

take the deck back and get it replaced

Ive been using alpines since I started driving... Probably had about 4-5 decks now, no problems like the ones you describe..

Sounds like a bogus deck.

I am the same way I wanna get rid of my sony deck and get a 9833 my friend just bought a 9835 and loves it. send it back to alpine sounds like you have a faulty head unit. there stuff is quality top of the line.
