Radio faceplate lights dimming when turned up loud

Hey guys, I have an old Alpine CDA 7856 series cd player in my car. For some reason when I turn up the volume loud, I can see the lights on all the buttons kinda flickering with the highs and lows in the music. It is most noteable at night(go figure!) and will do it to deep bass or really high treble notes. Is the cd player just getting old and worn or do you think that there is another problem. I have heard of some people adding seperate chassis ground off of the back of their radios, but for what, and would it help me? Thanks for your time, Paul Moore

Trying to become the most modded out N/A 2nd gen sunbird 4 cylinder on the org with a..... screw that, I'm going turbo!!!

2.Slow OHC I4

most high powered Alpines need to get power from a higher current constant power. I had a 9815 doing the same thing I moved the constant power feed to a higher current feed under the dash and it worked great. the one behind your radio is not made for high current. you can either do that or get a 4 channel amp.
