Tach Wire

Just wanted to note that I was totally lost finding the Tach wire - untill I looked at the coil. Anyone with a 99 2.2l Cav can find the Tach as the white wire in a series of 4 maybe 5 connected to the coil.

Just thought I would post if anyone was having issues.

same color wire on Z's too.. and you dont need a tach adapter to use a tach, wire it to the white off your ECM going to the coil packs. It'll rough idle & bob when you're car is idling b/c it only has 1/2 of the signal... but it works just fine

Don't you mean 2x the signal? J-cars use waste spark, which means it fires two spark plugs at the same time... so there's only two coils instead of four.

you need a tack adaptor and the proper wire you are looking for is below and to the right of the coil packs they are kinda looped into the same hole sorta those are the wires you want to splice it into and it will work when is right and the tach will not if it is wrong their are only two wires.

omg im so lost on where to look........... i have a 2200 and i cant find where to hook up a damn shift light. Is it the wires right above the coil packs but still attached to them? theres like a set of 5 on a clip and a set of 2 on a clip? Or is it the 2 wires that go to the valve cover area infront of my engine. Im so lost... i thought i tried a white wire already and i didnt think it worked.

its the 5th light down... its just the light... the instructions say to hook it to the ei tach terminal or the - on the coil pack. The site says it doesnt need an rpm activated switch. It says its a stand alone. Its just the light. HELP ME! lol............

the wires you are looking for are below and to the right of the coil packs but you are probably still going to need an adaptor because it will only be reading 2 cyl instead of four if you don't. i wish i had a picture the wires are looped and their are only two of them on their like this. because that is where the task adaptor said to hook the adaptor too.

i can't really tell it is like a couple of inches below and to the right of the coil packs and the wire is the one closest to the firewall. pull back the coating and hook it up and see if it works if not then i will check mine and see what color the wires are.
