OD Doesnt light
Sunday, March 06, 2005 7:03 PM
Hi, im a newbie with this, just bought the car friday. But i need some help now.

I did what John Lenko said to install my Headunit. Got everything installed right, and everything worked, until i put it all back together. Now my OD doesnt light at all, so i dont know what my mileage is. I read on other topics that i should hit the top off the dash, but it didnt work, but i also didnt pound on it all that hard. Do I just need to hit it harder? I checked the fuses and im pretty sure that they were all good, and in properly.

The bonus, my car now sounds alot better with a headunit and 4 new speakers.

is it just really really faint? or is it out?

because mine was faint and i just hit the top of my dash, pretty hard, twice and that fixed that..

if its completely out, it may be a bulb or a short or something bad, maybe take it to a dealer?

Im pretty sure its out, if its faint, its extremely faint. Ill take the dash apart later, and check to bulbs, and wires.

Smack the top of it first, see if that fixes it.

This morning on my way to work, i noticed that it was lit, just very faint, I couldnt tell last nite. I smacked it a few times, but nothing happened, and its still faint.

I got it to work. Each time i went out to my car, i pounded on the dash. I guess that i just had to pound on it enough times, because now it likes up. Thanks guys.

Weird, ain't it? Dunno why it works... but it does.

I wonder if GM knows about our little fix?
