Problems With My Kicker L7

Ok I have an older style 10" Kicker Solo-Baric L7. I bought it for 50 bucks still brand new in the still factory sealed box. It has the black cone not the new titanuim one. I bought a slot port box for it and a New Kicker KX400 watt Class D Amp to push it. The problem is that when I start to "tune" the amp, the system shuts off. But when I turn everything back down, it comes back on. After doing this, I hooked up my 2 old Jensen 12" in a sealed box, and I can tune the amp fine and it hits like real good. So I hooked my kicker back up to the amp, and I cant turn the sound up like about 14. Is the amp putting out to much power for the L7 or what? Thanks for your help!

Check the ohm load that your giving the amp from the L7, maybe its the wrong resistance and making the amp put out more power than it can thus draining more? Thats just my guess, probably wrong, but I tried.

yea, sounds like you got to low of a load on your amp.

what coils does the sub have? and what is your amp rated for?
