Indeed.
I just found a sweet deal on a 70mm Accufab throttle body. Hopefully I can scoop that up and finally rid myself of this POS BBK tb.
Tonight, sicne its raining, im planning on finishing up the pass door panel and looking for boost/vac leaks that may explain the high idle.
Im trying to get on the dyno next sat, or sometime 'round then. Stay tuned....

Didnt get a ton done tonight, unfortunately. I did manage to get the pass door panel wrapped and installed. Its all done. So now I pretty much have a full interior other than under dash panels and trim for the gauge panel. Ill figure that out this winter.
Tomorrow Im gonna try to get back to the alternator shop to pay for the alt and have the pulley changed. Then with any luck, do a pressure test of the intake to see if maybee I acutally have a leak somewhere causing my high idle. I tried finding it with the propane trick, but turned up nothing.

Awsome, keep us posted, im curious to see the numbers.
So over the past 3 days Ive put about 260 miles on the car. While it was mostly highway Ive done quite a few 3rd and 4th gear pulls and a bit of tuning. Everything seems to be working great, other than my 1700rpm idle and a heat soak issue. Im going to order a new Accufab throttle body to replace this POS BBK tomorrow. That should solve my idle issues.
My heat soak issue is this: It seems that on a hot day (90 deg or so) my coils can over heat causing some misfires. It happened friday on my way home from work getting stuck at lots of lights and stop and go traffic on my 25 mile trip. So I will need to address that at some point. For now as long as it stays cooler I shouldnt have any problem.
Sicne then, with the cooler temps (60s) I have put 210 miles on it with not a single issue. I guess I will find out for sure come dyno time on saturday.

Awsome news man. It must feel great to drive it.
It feels good. There is alot to be done still. It probably wont be until early summer next year until all the bugs are completely worked out. But its epic that its even driving. I drove it more miles in the last 3 days than I have in probably the last 4 years.

I JUST got off the phone ordering the new 70mm Accufab throttle body. That should solve my 17-1800 rpm idle issues. It should be here in time to get it on and adjusted nice nice before the dyno on sat.

I was looking more for expected power at the boost levels listed. I dont plan on running more than 20psi (at least not yet)

New throttle body is in. I cant say enough about the quality of the Accufab TB. Its SOOOOOO much better than that pos BBK could ever be. So far it seems to be totally worth the money. The real proof will be when I start it up in the am.
I also put a new connector on the main harness that connects to the MS. I orig used the solder cup connector and it just sucked. So I found some solder terminals for the wires that I could snap into a housing. Again, SO much better and more reliable.
Should be all set for the dyno tomorrow (or sat).
Just need to set the idle with the new TB, change the oil, do some final checks and Im off.

New TB FTMFW! Idle is sweet now, flat at 1k. I could easily adjust the TB to have it lower, but with the cam it just wont idle there. Sooo stoked to have a normal idle finally. Whooo.
Woooo! Now, to find out if I can get tuned today.....

Two steps forward, one back....
So I think my clutch cant hold the tq Im making.
Went out this afternoon doing some tuning at like 17psi. In every gear as soon as I get to 4-4500rpms the tach instantly jumps to 6k, ok it takes 1/2 second according to the logs.
It even did this at 85mph in 4th gear. Now, I didnt notice the speedo jump to 125mph (which is the calculated speed at that rpm and gear). Id assume the speedo would jump if the tires were spinning.
Also, when this happens I dont get the violent torque steer like I do when the tires slip.
Thoughts?

That sounds a lot like a slipping clutch
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
Ya, thats what Im thinking. Crap.
