You pick it up a toss it in. 2 people can easily lift an Ecotec. BTW, Ecotecs fit soo nice in that spot.

I had to return my loaner hoist... need to order some parts too. Gonna be a bit before the new motor goes in

T!M8!T: we used the engine hoist and muscled it in. Seats are out of a cobalt.

Tinkles: we are old guys, we used the hoist LOL

got some work done to the new motor over the weekend...

Ennotech Designs lightened alt pulley installed

balance shaft deletes and upgraded timing bolts installed as well

looking at a possible belt routing with the ac compressor completely deleted

and a quick mock-up pic

still lots to do before its ready to go back in the car...

more wrench time on the car today...

modded the l61 coilpack

and the lsj coil cover

opened up the blower phenolic spacer

and installed the mtech short shifter linkage

I started to cut up the driver's side axle in an attempt to be able to split the case on the trans but I ran out of cutoff wheels.

Who doesn’t like more boost? Thanks to John Higgins for a great deal on the pulley!

welp cutting corners on my original LSD install came back to bite me in the ass...

issue has been remedied for reinstall... beveled the inner gears so the c-clips on the axles will now compress when trying to remove.

also got the cps bracket realigned and the sensor installed

Jealous of those trans mounts. So you plan to not use the lsj belt tensioner?

i'm going to give this belt routing a try...

I'm a bit apprehensive about the minimal wrap on the alt pulley but I can always revert to the lsj routing in the event that this doesn't work.

Curious how you would convert to LSJ routing without the compressor on it? Is there an AC delete setup for it?

Gutted compressor is what I’ve seen used. There is not an actual delete pulley available.

another update...

old steering wheel had seen better days

picked up this sparco to replace it

found the fuel rail cover wouldn't clear the 02 style rail/lines so swapped to an 03+ rail

header is reinstalled and most of the harness has been re-routed.

picked up a rear bumper to cut up in the name of aero...

also got a replacement drivers side axle which is now installed in the car. still have to relocate the battery, get the cooling system back in and then fill with fluids. after that it should be ready to fire. still needs a fuel pump/upgraded harness before its ready to be tuned though.

I have questions first do I see the Overkill fender braces on your car, (I need a set of those), what had to be beveled to allow the c clip to compress the actual teeth that engage the axle splines or the outer area of the gear and finally what is the part number of the short throw shift linkage from Mtech, thanks?
