Well dont give up on this, it sounds like a good project.

ratindahat never did a targa top. he tried but couldnt pull it off so he settled for t-tops

ive been researching this and im starting to get all the info i need for this,

reinforement of the unibody (same way the verts are stiffened up)
vert doors (no frame and stronger)
stiffen up window frame (added metal under trim)
remove frame from door and weld into window part (like ow the verts are)
roll cage for back part (like the big plastic one on mustangs but under the back part)
saw off roof (self explanitory)
get some locks from 300zx t-tops
weld in some metal for the weather stripping (where the top removes)
mount the locks to the roof section (dunno just make it work)
drill some holes in the metal for the lock mechanism to lock into
creativly weatherstrip everything (dunno yet)

as you can tell this is a pretty big project but not too bad because allot of the stiffening is done before the initial cut of the roof. im probly forgetting some stuff but if i pull this of there will be pictures and a writeup on it. this information is just what my plan of attack for it is and if used it is not my fault if you screw something up.

I was searching through old posts to see if anyone had info on this topic. So I am now curious, did you ever start the project? if so, how is it coming along? I am thinking about trying it, but I would like to see if anyone has at least made any solid progress, without destroying their car. Any info would be appreciated

i remember seein' a pic of 2 girls in a purple cav that was a targa top. dont know if it was ps or not.
